– In another life, I’m pretty sure I was a crow, I love shiny things.
– If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d revamp and invest in this business!
– If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve voting. National Voting Day  – everyone has the day off to be able to vote.
– When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a jeweler when I grew up because again, I love shiny things!
If I was a pasta shape, I would be cavatappi because it’s curly and it can hold a lot of sauce!
If we held an office talent show, I’d wow everyone with my crafting talent.
The most rewarding part of my job is getting to help people solve their eye/vision issues and getting people to see clearly and comfortably with all their needs.  Also I love meeting so many cool people from all different backgrounds and learning about and from them.

If I was a pasta shape, I would be elbow macaroni because I just like the name of it.
If we held an office talent show, I’d wow everyone with my lip sync/air band talent.
The most rewarding part of my job is connecting with people and figuring out what will help with their eyesight, vision and health which will hopefully contribute to their wellbeing .

If I was a pasta shape, I would be shells because they are classic, versatile, and extra saucy but not messy.

The most rewarding part of my job is working alongside such great optometrists and such wonderful patients who are so fun to work with!

In another life, I’m pretty sure I was a cat because I love them so much and can’t stop picking up new ones. I’m a serial cat adopter.
If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve fireworks! Because fireworks are fun and exciting. Lots of food and activities that people can gather around and enjoy together.
When I was 5, I was pretty sure I’d be a chef and own my own breakfast café when I grew up. I love breakfast, danishes, donuts, bagels and the like. I love baking and more generally the morning routine, as everyone climatises to the day, reading newspapers and chatting over coffee. I wanted it to be a small town cafe where I had regulars and families and got to be a part of my community by feeding people good food and providing welcoming comfy atmosphere.
If I was a pasta shape, I would be bowtie pasta because I like to stick out amongst the crowd.
The most rewarding part of my job is helping folks to a better version of themselves that they can be more confident in.

Mark McEathron, O.D. – Emeritus

Dr. McEathron served patients at Binyon Vision Center for over 40 years before retiring in July 2023. He graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1980, and entered practice here the same year. Dr. McEathron has been a member of the American Optometric Association since 1976, and of the Washington Optometric Association since 1980. He’s completed every leg of the Ski to Sea race. His family, including seven grandchildren, keeps him busy and filled with joy. In retirement he looks forward to traveling with his wife Mary, kayaking near Cap Sante Marina and turning exotic woods. From time to time, he will continue to fill in for Dr. LeClaire.
